In addition to our range of quality wines, we are proud to be able to offer a range of beers from our own microbrewery – Box Steam Brewery - situated less than 10 miles from The Inn at Freshford. 
 
Founded in 2004 and acquired by Ken and Jenny Roberts in 2006, Box Steam Brewery is rapidly becoming a name associated with a high-quality hand-crafted product. Box Steam Brewery produces a variety of real ales, all brewed by hand and in small batches. Traditional brewing methods are used and the only ingredients are malted barley, hops, yeast, wheat and water.  
 
Each of these CAMRA award-winning ales are ideal as an accompaniment to any meal or to savour on their own.

1. CHARDONNAY, El Otro, Chile  
The exclusive El Otro range comes from a seven generation del Podregal family who have produced a clean and fresh wine, with fine, ripe tropical fruit aromas. Good varietal character on the palate with fresh acidity and a lovely finish. 
 
2. SAUVIGNON BLANC, Guillaume Aurele, France  
Aromas of fresh citrus fruit and elderflower, enhanced by a hint of mineral. It has an irresistible refreshing finish. 
 
3. CHENIN BLANC , Cape Crown, South Africa  
A typical Chenin Blanc with ripe tropical fruit aromas complemented by hints of lemon and with a lovely balance of fruit and acidity.

4. PINOT GRIGIO , Belfiore, Italy  
Light and fresh with crisp apple fruit flavours. 
 
5. CHENIN/SEMILLON/CHARDONNAY, Oddsocks, Australia 
Reminiscent of fresh passion fruit integrated superbly with enticing limey and citrusy flavours. The name ‘Oddsocks’ refers to the unusual blend of grape varieties, which combine to create colourful and approachable wines. 
 
6. VIOGNIER, Crisol, Argentina 
Clean and fine, this is an aromatic, elegant wine full of typical peach aromas and a long lasting finish. 
 
7. SAUVIGNON BLANC, Overstone, New Zealand 
Lively and instantly mouth-watering, this Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is zesty with intense flavours of gooseberry, melon and passion fruit. 
 
8. CHABLIS, la Pierrellée, Burgundy 
This wine has a nose of vanilla complemented by peaches. Vanilla continues on the spicy palate which has a complex structure and ripe citurs fruits. 
 
9. SANCERRE, Domaine Doucet, Loire Valley 
Dry, elegant full of gooseberry character, showing a full ripe flavour with excellent balance. A classic partner to fish dishes. 
 
10. POUILLY FUISSE, 'Les Margolliets', Pierre Janny, Burgundy 
Intense citrus flavours, with a wonderful lick of peach, leading to luscious vanilla and toast on the finish.

3. CABERNET SAUVIGNON, El Otro, Chile  
Brilliant deep violet colour with soft, rich red fruit aromas mingled with a background of cassis and wild herbs. 
14. MERLOT, Guillaume Aurele, France  
A beautiful dark red colour, and offers intense aromas of ripe blackcurrant, blueberry and provencal herbs. Generous and silky in the mouth, with plump fruit and hints of spice. 
15. SHIRAZ, Cape Crown, South Africa  
A soft, dry and full bodied red wine with elegant peppery/smoky finish on the palate. Grapes from the Swartland winery are hand-picked to ensure extremely good fruit concentration, enabling the production of an intense and delicious range. 
16. SHIRAZ/CABERNET, Emu Rise, Australia  
With a youthful purple colour, this wine is fresh, juicy with a slight pepperiness. A classic and extremely popular Australian blend.
